CME Accreditation
For your ECCMID attendance you will receive credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) Institution of the UEMS. The number of credits will be communicated before the congress.

Language
The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

Liability and Insurance
The organizer is not able to take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

Official Letter of Invitation
The organizers will be pleased to send a letter of invitation to any individual requesting one, once their registration and fee have been received. It is to be understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa. It is not a commitment on the part of the congress to provide any financial support. You may request such a letter during the online registration or from the Congress Registration Department at

Travel Grants
ESCMID provides around 100 ECCMID Travel Grants for young scientists who submitted an abstract. Further details and criteria can be found on the ESCMID website.

Travel to the Venue

Underground: The metro stop Messe/Prater of the U2 line is right outside the venue. It takes you to/from the city centre (Karlsplatz).

Train: For visitors who want to take a taxi to Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien, journey times and prices are found below:

From Schwechat Airport: A taxi from the airport will cost about €40 and take around 15 – 20 minutes with little traffic.
From the city center: A taxi from the centre will cost €15-20, take around 15 – 30 minutes. There is usually heavy traffic.
 
Car: GPS: 1020 Vienna, Ausstellungsstraße or Trabrennstraße.
There are 2 multi-storey car parks (A and D), 1 underground parking (C) and 1 car park (A) which will offer parking spaces for 4.326 cars; available for organisers, exhibitors and visitors.

Transfer from/to airport Schwechat: The City Airport Train/ CAT takes just 16 minutes nonstop from or to central Vienna. CAT operates daily from 05.36 a.m. to 23.39 p.m. The City Air Terminal is just 10 minutes from St. Stephan’s Cathedral at Wien Mitte station, which can be reached easily by tram, underground, bus or taxi. The prices are for a single ticket €12 and for a return ticket €19.

Visa Requirements
Participants are requested to check with the Austrian consulate in their home country or with their travel agency for visa requirements. As part of the European Union, for some countries a Schengen Visum is required. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa in advance if required.
